How do I get to the beach?Look for Pacific Boulevard on at the north end of Rainbow Shores Stage 1. Be careful of traffic coming off the beach. Riding on the Beach…The grasses on the dunes are fragile and if damaged take a long time to recover. To protect these grasses please ride on the beach below the high tide line. Please do not ride on the vegetated dunes and never tie horses to trees. From September to April a number of migratory bird species use this RAMSAR area for roosting during their stay in Camels may cause some horses to stress and even panic and thus reduce your level of control. If your horse is stressed by the camels please dismount and move as far over to the side of the track as possible. This is not the time or place to train your horse to get used to camels. The camels are tied together and don’t find it easy to move away. For safety reasons when riding on the beach please keep at least 100 metres away from the camels, and if necessary dismount to calm your horse. Camels always have right-of-way.
