Bruce Highway

Follow the Bruce Highway into Gympie, take the Tin Can Bay/Rainbow Beach exit on the right hand side and follow Tin Can Bay Road until you see the turn for Rainbow Beach on the right hand side, approximately 40kms from Gympie.

Follow Rainbow Beach Road for approximately 30kms, and you’ll arrive at Rainbow Beach. Keep an eye out for the Cooloola Coast Fraser Is Tourist Drive 43 signs along Tin Can Bay Road to guide you in the right direction.

Buses arrive daily and can be booked at www.greyhound.com.au

Via Beach

From Tewantin catch the car ferry to North Shore and drive along Teewah Beach, past the Teewah Coloured Sands, until you reach Double Is Point, follow the Leisha track through to the other side of the point, follow the Beach to Rainbow Beach township. Turn off the beach just before the surf life saving tower. Please enquire before attempting to pass Mudlo Rocks.

Scenic Drive

The scenic drive will take you through State Forest, National Park and past some of Cooloola’s waterways. From Noosa, follow the signs to Tewantin. Follow signs to Boreen Point. On Louis Bazzo Drive, turn left, following the signs to Cootharaba Road (road becomes unsealed after some time). From here follow the signs to Gympie. Once on Kin Kin Road follow the signs to Counter Road; unless you have a 4WD do not take Cooloola Way. Follow signs to Tin Can Bay/Rainbow Beach. Once on Tin Can Bay Road access is same as if traveling via Gympie (Bruce Highway). Some of the roads are unsealed and during wet weather may not be easily accessible.
